West Bengal shines bright on the national stage! Piyali, from Kolkata has been selected at the national Haut Monde Beauty Contest!

National : Dental surgeon, research scholar, a faculty member at med schools, dancer, actor, author and model — USA-based Dr Piyali Roy wears many hats with elan. Born and brought up in Kolkata, Dr Roy always had a creative bent of mind, which made her a multi-talented and multi-faceted individual today.  At present, Mrs India 2023 finalist is gearing up for the big event. The doctor-turned-model also is elated to participate in the coveted Haut Monde Mrs India Worldwide, an international beauty pageant for Indian married women.

Having been a trained Kathak and Bharatnatyam dancer (since the age of three), Dr Roy never took her education for granted. After completing her dentistry degree from the University of Calcutta, she went on to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the esteemed New York University.

Today, Dr Roy is a practicing dental surgeon in the United States and holds a Master's degree in Public Health. Her expertise in the field has been recognized by the American Public Health Association (APHA), who awarded her as the Best Student in 2007. Dr Roy is also a renowned national conference speaker on dental health and public health in the US.

Dr Roy is committed to giving back to society and serves the underserved population in Washington DC. She organizes dental camps and spearheads the ‘Smile’ dental bus that visits public schools and underserved communities. Dr Roy is associated with the American Dental Association (ADA), and back in India, she was affiliated with the Indian Dental Association (IDA) and Rotary Club. She also works with UNICEF.

In addition to her dental profession, Dr Roy has also made her mark as a model and actor. She recently sashayed down the runway in the New York Fashion Week, where she broke beauty barriers and showcased her grace and elegance on the ramp as a role model for professional women in the USA from different ethnic backgrounds. 

A mom to two toddlers, Dr Roy also fights period poverty and promotes menstrual health. She is working relentlessly to eliminate the gender-biased Pink Tax in the United States.

Dr Roy is set to release her new book, ‘10 Rules of Confidence,’ in May, which is sure to inspire and motivate readers. Dr Roy's accomplishments and contributions are a testament to her dedication and hard work, and there is no stopping her in her pursuit of excellence.
