Medinipore: Driving
positive change through sustainable community development, Dalmia Bharat
Foundation (DBF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Dalmia
Bharat Ltd. (DBL), India’s leading cement company, inaugurated a series of sustainable
livelihood initiatives in the villages surrounding its Medinipore plant. These
initiatives include 12 community dairy units in Pathrajuri village, a tea and
tiffin stall in Kachhari Road village and a clothes and garments shop in
Kamarmuri village. Under the Gram Parivartan project, these efforts are
expected to significantly boost the incomes of the beneficiaries, with
projected earnings of Rs. 1 lakh and above annually.
The
event was graced by Shri. Pankaj Gupta, Unit Head and Shri. Sudhir Ranjan
Mohanty, HR Head, from Bengal Cement Works – Dalmia Cement, who unveiled the
community-driven enterprises. Also in attendance were Shri. Santu Dolai, Up
Pradhan of Kashijora GP, community leaders Shri Dulal Sing, Shri Muktipada
Sing, Shri Santulal Maity, beneficiaries and members of the public.
The
Gram Parivartan project, a flagship initiative of Dalmia Bharat Foundation, is
dedicated to enhancing the socio-economic well-being of rural communities
through skill development, enterprise creation, and infrastructure development.
