Kolkata : On International Women's Day, Pahchan Foundation organized a workshop for around 200 women at Titagarh in North 24 Parganas. The Foundation also highlighted the importance of education and general knowledge in empowering women to break down barriers and thrive in life. Pahchan Foundation also invited Mr. Manit Singh, Director of ASSET NGO, as the guest speaker for their workshop.
On
International Women's Day, Pahchan Foundation honored the courage and
resilience of the underprivileged women who, despite facing overwhelming odds,
continue to strive for a better life. These women, often invisible and unheard,
are the unsung heroes of our society, working tirelessly to provide for their
families and communities.
It reaffirms its commitment to supporting and empowering these remarkable
women, recognizing their inherent worth and dignity, and working towards a
future where they have equal access to opportunities, resources, and rights.
Speaking
at the workshop, Manit Singh, Director, ASSET, said, “First of all, I would
like to wish every woman across the world, a very happy Women’s Day. I would
also like to thank Pahchan Foundation for inviting me to their enlightening
workshop. Women's Day is not just a celebration, but a call to action. As we
celebrate International Women's Day, let us remember that women's empowerment
is not just a women's issue, but a human issue. It is essential that we work
together to create a world where women and girls have equal opportunities and
rights, whether it's education, healthcare, or basic necessities. Despite
facing many challenges, these women are the backbone of their families and
communities, driving positive change, continuing to break down barriers, and
defying expectations. I again thank the sheroes of the society for their
contributions.”
The
workshop was supported by NGO ASSET (Arya Smile and Social Educational Trust),
where women were educated about the importance of hand hygiene, healthcare, and
overall nutritional development for themselves and their children. To celebrate
the occasion, ASSET also provided nutritious fruit juices to around 200 women.
